Scripture on Peace

Scripture on Peace

Most of us are constantly walking around busy in an extremely fast paced culture. The thought of having peace or taking a relaxing vacation is far from us. Why is this? Is it in the name of productivity? We just can’t make the time? We don’t think we can ever find something like peace in our lives?

The other side of this is that others are walking around beat up, without hope, and thinking there is no end to their struggles. Something like peace is foreign to them, but they desire and would love to have it. So where do we find it?

God provides peace through His Son Jesus Christ.

Through Jesus, for those who believe and follow Him, we are forgiven…for everything…for all eternity. Now that is peace.

Then as we continue to follow Him for the rest of our lives, we walk in a peace that is beyond understanding to this world or our culture. The Bible has many things to say on peace so let’s take God’s Word seriously (since it’s perfect) and see what it has to say.

Here is what the Bible has to say with Scripture on Peace:

Romans 5:1 – Therefore, since we have been justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ.

Psalm 85:8 – Let me hear what God the Lord will speak, for he will speak peace to his people, to his saints; but let them not turn back to folly.

Psalm 119:165 – Great peace have those who love your law; nothing can make them stumble.

Isaiah 26:3 – You keep him in perfect peace whose mind is stayed on you, because he trusts in you.

Romans 8:6 – For to set the mind on the flesh is death, but to set the mind on the Spirit is life and peace.

Proverbs 16:7 – When a man’s ways please the Lord, he makes even his enemies to be at peace with him.

James 3:18 – And a harvest of righteousness is sown in peace by those who make peace.

Matthew 5:9 – Blessed are the peacemakers, for they shall be called sons of God.

2 Corinthians 13:11 – Finally, brothers, rejoice. Aim for restoration, comfort one another, agree with one another, live in peace; and the God of love and peace will be with you.

Philippians 4:6-7 – Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.
