What is Truth? That seems to be such a common question these days, and is there any absolute truth? Is it just relative? Even Pontius Pilate asked, “What is Truth?” So let’s look at what the Bible has to say about it. Here is some scripture in regards to Truth:
Proverbs 16:13 - Righteous lips are the delight of a king, and he loves him who speaks what is right.
Psalm 145:18 - The Lord is near to all who call on him, to all who call on him in truth.
John 14:6 - Jesus said to him, “I am the way, and the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.”
John 8:31-32 - So Jesus said to the Jews who had believed him, “If you abide in my word, you are truly my disciples, and you will know the truth, and the truth will set you free.”
1 John 5:20 - And we know that the Son of God has come and has given us understanding, so that we may know him who is true; and we are in him who is true, in his Son Jesus Christ. He is the true God and eternal life.
John 16:13 - When the Spirit of truth comes, he will guide you into all the truth, for he will not speak on his own authority, but whatever he hears he will speak, and he will declare to you the things that are to come.
Proverbs 23:23 - Buy truth, and do not sell it; buy wisdom, instruction, and understanding.
Psalm 119:160 - The sum of your word is truth, and every one of your righteous rules endures forever.
Joshua 23:14 - And now I am about to go the way of all the earth, and you know in your hearts and souls, all of you, that not one word has failed of all the good things that the Lord your God promised concerning you. All have come to pass for you; not one of them has failed.
