A 51-year old friend died of an aneurysm recently.
It’s a reminder that only Jesus knows when He desires to bring us home to Him.
It made me think of what it means to have a succession plan, namely, what happens when I’m gone.
I need to be ready.
If you are a business owner, a succession plan for your business probably means preparing your business in the event you die or become incapacitated and/or spend months in rehabilitation
Too often, the business fails and the wealth of the business and family is wiped out. How does that happen? The business owner normally keeps all the operating secrets and ways to prosper in their brain and they never take the time to pass along the critical information so someone can take over and continue the business operations until it is sold or under new management.
To them, head knowledge might mean everything. In the end they lose it all (and their family loses it all) for lack of preparation.
I wonder how many people treat Jesus like that? They go to church. They know the Bible stories. They feel confident that since they are such a good person, they will be in Heaven.
They have the head knowledge, but they don’t really KNOW Jesus. They feel comfortable around Christians and can talk the talk. But without God’s succession plan, they wipe out their future life to join Satan’s eternal life.
Some people just don’t see the value of a succession plan.
God, help me to unashamedly introduce God’s succession plan to others.
Help me to share the heart knowledge instead of the head knowledge of Jesus Christ, as He is the only way to salvation and eternal life.

“For I am sure that neither death nor life, nor angels nor rulers, nor things present nor things to come, nor powers, nor height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God in Christ Jesus our Lord.” – Romans 8:38-39
